DME / Home Healthcare Operations

Medi-Rents & Sales, Inc. is a leading home medical equipment provider specializing in respiratory services, medical equipment and supplies, and enteral nutrition. We work closely with patients, referral sources, healthcare professionals, and payers to deliver high-quality care in the home setting.

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Director of Patient Services to provide leadership and operational oversight for patient-facing departments within our growing organization.

This position is responsible for directing and coordinating the activities of assigned managers and departments in support of the company’s policies, goals, and objectives. The ideal candidate will have strong DME or healthcare operations experience, demonstrated leadership ability, knowledge of insurance requirements, and a proven record of improving productivity, accountability, teamwork, and workflow.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, direction, and oversight to managers and departments reporting to the Director of Patient Services.
  • Ensure departmental operations comply with company policies and all applicable local, state, and federal requirements.
  • Establish and implement operating procedures that support organizational goals and leadership objectives.
  • Develop and oversee short-term and long-term departmental plans.
  • Monitor departmental performance, productivity, service levels, and operational metrics.
  • Analyze performance data and recommend strategic initiatives to improve workflow, communication, teamwork, and efficiency.
  • Create effective structures and processes to support current operations and projected organizational growth.
  • Ensure departmental responsibilities, authority, and accountability are clearly defined and understood.
  • Support management development, employee accountability, and succession planning.
  • Oversee employee hiring, training, work assignments, performance evaluations, recognition, corrective action, and problem resolution.
  • Promote effective communication and information flow among departments.
  • Ensure patients are properly qualified for equipment and supplies based on applicable insurance guidelines.
  • Work collaboratively with senior leadership, directors, managers, and other departments.
  • Participate in operational performance improvement initiatives.
  • Support the effective implementation and use of company systems and technology.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university; three years of industry-related management experience or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Practical knowledge of DME, home medical equipment, home healthcare, patient services, or a closely related industry.
  • Demonstrated experience managing managers, employees, workflows, and departmental performance.
  • Knowledge of insurance qualification requirements, payer guidelines, patient documentation, and order-processing workflows.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret productivity data, percentages, ratios, trends, and operational metrics.
  • Strong leadership, organization, communication, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and explain technical procedures, payer requirements, governmental regulations, and company policies.
  • Ability to respond professionally to inquiries or concerns from patients, customers, employees, regulatory agencies, and members of the healthcare community.
  • Proficiency with computers, spreadsheets, databases, project-management tools, and other business software.
  • Ability to quickly learn company-specific systems and technology.
  • Ability to work independently, supervise others, manage competing priorities, and maintain sound judgment in a fast-paced environment.
  • Availability to work a flexible or adjusted schedule when operational needs require it.
